Vendors - Pajama Story Time - Crafts - Giveaways

The Appomattox Regional Library System (ARLS) is thrilled to announce the upcoming Parent Resource Fair and Nursing Mothers’ Room Dedication scheduled for Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 6 pm. This community-focused event promises an evening filled with valuable resources, family-friendly activities, and opportunities for connection. The first 50 participants at the Parent Resource Fair will receive a free ARLS canvas tote.

Nursing Mothers’ Room Dedication

ARLS is honored to have garnered the support of Virginia Physicians for Women as the naming sponsor for the nursing mothers' room. Participants are welcome to come and tour the new room!

Pajama Story Time
6:30 pm in the children’s section

Wear your coziest PJs and cuddle up with your favorite stuffed animal for pajama story time.

Come and join us for a special story time with Alayah Jenkins, a talented 9-year-old author! Alayah has transformed her personal experiences with bullying and eczema into captivating children's books.

Baby's First Library Card!
Create cherished memories by signing up your bundle of joy for their first library card. Capture the moment with a special keepsake Polaroid photo.

To enroll, simply bring your government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport, along with any additional documentation if your current address differs from the one on your ID.We accept proof of your current address, such as a DMV change of address card, a recent utility bill, or a pay stub with your current address.

Free Baby Supplies and Clothing Swap
6:15 - 7 pm

Baby items can be expensive, and little ones outgrow them fast. This swap will focus on items intended for babies, ages 0 to 24 months. All items are given and taken freely and are not for sale. Participants do not have to bring anything to take items home.

Please bring only items from the accepted list below.
● New or gently used clothing (washed and pre-sorted by size),
● Unopened formula (not expired before April 2024; check lot number for recalls),
● Breastfeeding supplies such as pumps or pump parts (used or new), breastmilk storage
bags, bottles
● Open or unopened packs of diapers, and unopened containers of wipes.

ARLS invites the community to explore the information tables hosted by local organizations,offering a wealth of resources and opportunities to connect with valuable services. Additionally,
the event will highlight the new Family Resource Collection, a curated selection of materials aimed at enhancing the parenting experience and contributing to the overall well-being of families.
